Community Living

It's fair to say there are a lot of cross over points when working for Adventure Plus. One particular one that has worked in the team's favour is the relationship we have built with Carterton Community College over the years. Beginning with the occasional half day event, we now work closely with them on alternative provision bookings and, of course, during the summer they are incredibly generous to allow us to use it as the location for one of our Total Adventure camps.

Another bit of the evidence of the depth of relationship is very easy to miss however. The team have had the privilege to go along and use their climbing wall weekly on a Monday evening. Normally school walls are designed to be basic, allowing for the majority to be able to have a go, but the designers of this one must have seen something special in the school as the CCC wall is still throwing up problems...even to those that have been with A+ for years!

It's 'only' a couple of hours and so can be taken for granted, lost in the busyness of the rest of the week but no doubt it will have a big impact on the personal skills of those that take up its challenges.
