A busy weekend!

If you've read about the latest goings on with the DisTIL team you may be thinking that they would be a bit tired after such a busy week out on the lakes and rivers of Oxfordshire! But that wasn't the end of the week for this year's team.

A quick lowdown of what's been going on this weekend...

Friday night saw us in the nearby town of Eynsham, spending the evening with just under 50 young people aged 11-18. With a Total Adventure hat on, we ran two team building sessions for the young people from St Leonard's Church. Activities included an intimidation exercise, Alaskan baseball and some daring exploits on a magic carpet some 100ft in the air...sort of! We were fortunate enough to be provided with toasties, and were glad that we weren't the ones eating the cheese/turkey/Mars combo.

On Saturday afternoon we ran our first ever Families Day for the families of children attending the after school club about to start at Springfield School. It was a chance for parents and siblings (as well as the children themselves) to see what we will be doing at the club, and to try out a few of the activities. We were delighted that lots of people we able to make it and it was great to see so many people achieving new and different things, from getting very high on the climbing wall to knocking over all the tin cans in archery. The DisTIL team did a great job and we all enjoyed spending time with the families just having fun together. And the hot chocolate was delicious...
