Foundation Safety and Rescue

When training toward outdoor qualifications there's a lot to consider.

A big focus for us on the DisTIL team is enabling the children and young people with whom we work to enjoy the outdoors safely.

Fun and safety. Both weighing equally in importance. In a world where 'health and safety' is a phrase far too often linked with the absence of fun we are here to demonstrate that you can push yourself, you can get yourself out there, you can stay safe, stay healthy and still have a lot of fun.

But this still takes some training.

And so it is that the DisTIL team found themselves by/on/in a lake on a chilly (but pleasant) November day because, when it comes to rescuing a kid who has fallen out of their boat they need to have 'been there, done that' and still keep that smile on their face.
