S is for....

July has been a great month of working with a number of teenagers...

Severn

The beginning of the month saw me and Josh assessing a Gold DofE expedition on the River Severn. The group paddled from Pool Quay to Arley. Weather was perfect the river was running well and the Jackfield Rapids offered enough challenge to be interesting.

Stonesfield

Stonesfield invited us to their fete, the sun shone and a large number of young people enjoyed the climbing wall. It was great to welcome the amazing Mr Steeeeeeeeve Brown back to the team for the day.

Swindon

We then headed down to Ashburnham where we hosted a group of young people from Swindon Academy. They set up camp on the South lawn and enjoyed Archery, Canoeing, low ropes, Biking, Volleyball and Team building. The group challenged themselves in all the of the activities and the school ran art and music sessions to support our programme. The week culminated in a music festival which saw a star performance by our very own Simon Bell and Dave Lindley.

Saints

The next event was Spree with the Urban saints. Where we entertained 500 young people on Climbing wall, Tricky Trail, Team games and Circus skills. It was an brilliant opportunity to work with a variety of young people from across the country and get to know some of their youth workers. Great fun was had by all.

Finally we are about to head into our Summer TAs - first of all TA peak at the woodlands centre on the river Wye....
