I hope you’ve had a good week! We’ve had quite a busy and exciting week here at base. So here’s a quick update before I head home to Cornwall for a few days, to see my family and catch up on some sleep!
Sadly this week, we said goodbye to Andy Howells, who has moved into retirement but he has ensured us that he won’t be a stranger around here! However, we have also welcomed two new members of staff to the team! Ben Biscoe now sits at Jonny’s desk as our newest instructor. Ben loves climbing and is itching to get stuck into events and teach DisTIL some new things along the way! On the other side of the office we’re been joined by Andrew Mann who is filling a gap in the team as marketing and graphic design co-ordinator. It’s really great that the team is growing again, and we continue to pray for people to be led to this amazing place to become a part of the excitement that goes on here!

On Wednesday evening, Rachel, Ben, myself and faithful volunteer Dave Waters headed just outside of Witney to run a mobile-wall event with some children from North Leigh youth club. The evening was a success, everyone who came had a great time and so did our team. Ben’s first event with us was made complete with a chance to race Rachel up the climbing wall and followed by a 15 inch Hawaii Pizza on the way home!
This week has also involved Duke of Edinburgh training at Watkins Farm with pupils from Springfield School, evening Kayaking trips, Adventure Club and all of the other fun antics, as well as a lot of preparations for this afternoons VIP visit which you can read more about in Tuesday’s blog post!

Finally, this is a big weekend for Marc! On Sunday he'll be getting Baptised and on the following day he is having surgery on his knee. Good Luck Marc, enjoy your salmon salad and your time off!
Thanks for reading. Blessings,
